The International Community Fair, once called the Welcome neighbour Newcomers' Fair, was founded 24 years ago on the premises of the American Overseas School of Rome. It initially served to welcome newcomers and little by little grew to include the International Organizations in Rome and give all expats, new and old, a chance to learn about all the international and local organizations available in the Capital city.

It has always taken place at AOSR since then with the exceptions of the year 2006, when it was organized by Rome Village (an organization no longer existing in Rome) and the American International Club of Rome and it took place at John Cabot University. In 2007 Welcome Neighbor took over the organization and brought the Fair to the premises of St George's British International School, with more and more exhibitors and fun events. In 2009 ICF went back to its place of origin, as the AOSR offers more covered areas in case of rain. During that year the Italian Red Cross came back for a live demonstration of road accidents and rescue; the children who had participated in the Art Competition were awarded great prizes and Brazilian fashion designer Delaine presented her evening dress collection which attracted the attention of Alta Roma.

All proceeds were evolved to Associazione Kim onlus in order to give medical care to many sick children.

This year, for the first time, ICF is included as one of the Vivi Vejo projects to raise funds for the blind, the disabled and the school projects for the local municipalities.

ICF Rome is organized every two years and it is open to everyone free of charge.
